Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is investigated whether educational and occupational status, socio?economical levels of their mothers and the type of child?s handicap andgender are the determiners of the rejectional behavior of the mothers.221 volunteer mothers who are among the mothers whose children attend tospecial education and 106 mothers who are mothers? children attend to primaryschool and kinder garden in Ankara form the research group of the study.Family-Child relationship scale?Mother Form is used for dependent variableof the study. Personal Data Form is used with the aim of obtaining informationrelated to the independent variables. Statistical data are analyzed by using theprogram called SPSS 16.0. In the study, One Way ANOVA and T Test are used interms of statistical methods. The data in the study are tested with a 0.05 and 0.01error possibility.According to the research, it is seen that educational and occupational statusof the mothers and socio?economical levels are important determiners in terms ofrejectioanal behavior. It is determined that the higher the educational and socio?economical levels get, the higher rejectional behavior gets. When it comes to therelation of occupational status to rejectional behavior, it is observed that the motherswho are occupied or got unemployed after the birth display more rejectionalbehavior than the mothers who got retired or have never been employed. However,a meaningful relation between the type of child?s handicap or gender and therejectional behavior of mother could not been observed. Child?s gender or type ofhandicap has not been a determiner on the rejectional behavior of mother.
