Abstract (EN)

The aim of this dissertation is to reveal the intellectual capital efficiency of the Turkish banking sector and investigate the effect of banks' intellectual capital on accounting profits and accounting quality. The VAIC method, which is frequently used in the literature to measure the intellectual capital of enterprises and modification of VAIC, is used to measure banks' intellectual capabilities in this study enterprises and is used to measure banks' intellectual capabilities in this study. As a result of panel data regression analyses to test the hypotheses, it is determined that the increase in VAIC and MVAIC values increased the return on assets, return on equity, and cash flow predictability of the Turkish banking sector. In addition, an increase in the value of VAIC and MVAIC during the pandemic period will increase banks' return on assets. Based on components; the increase in human capital efficiency increases the return on assets and return on equity of banks. While the rise in structural capital efficiency decreases banks' return on equity, the increase in relational capital efficiency decreases both the return on assets and return on equity of banks. In the pandemic period, while the increase in human capital efficiency increases the return on equity, structural capital efficiency increases the return on assets and equity.
