Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of special movement training on the balance skills of children with intellectual disability. For this purpose, it is targeted to investigate the effects of movement training on balance skills of the children with intellectual disability which is thought to have a direct effect on "Sensory Integration Disorder". Materials and Methods: In this study, the experimental design method was used. The experimental group consists of 23 children attending a special education and rehabilitation center in Burdur city between the ages of 7 and 10. The "The Basic Movement Training Program Built for the Development of Balance Skills" was applied for the experiment group for 45 minutes of lessons, two days per week, during 11 weeks (22 hours total). The pre and post tests were applied and the study was completed at total of 13 weeks. Results: A significant difference was observed between the pre and post-test scores of Sensory Profile Test, Pediatric Balance Scale, Flamingo Balance Test, The Balance at Walking Device Test, To Stay on Balance Device Test, Balance Measuring Device group. Conclusions: The obtained results have been revealed that the movement training was developed the balance skills of children with intellectual disability.
