A study of observing the growth rate along with determining lipid and protein in muscle of gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata L. 1758) fed with the feed contaning supplemented enzyme

ABSTRACT A STUDY OF OBSERVING THE GROWTH RATE ALONG WITH DETERMINING LIPID AND PROTEIN IN MUSCLE OF GILTHEAD SEA BREAM {Spams aurata L. 1758) FED WITH THE FEED CONTANING SUPPLEMENTED ENZYME Mesut YELMAZ M. Thesis, Department of Aquatic Engineering Adviser: Prof.Dr. Ramazan İKİZ September 2004, 49 Pages This study was carried out for the purpose of finding out the effects of supplements, mixed bacterial enzyme premix (Allzyme Vegpro), added to feed intensified with soy bean meal, the performance of growth rate of gilthead sea bream, protein and fat rates in muscle. In the study, 220 sea bream, approximately 86.94±1.77 g were randomly divided into two groups which have two replicate. The first group were fed with the feed of control group which has no supplemented enzyme. The second group was the experimental group added 0.2 % enzyme in their feed. The study lasted 14 weeks, two weeks of which were the adaptation intervals before the research. Throughout the course of the experiment lenght and weight measurements were fullfilled every two weeks. For the experimental and control groups the initial weights were 86.5±2.54 and 87.5±2.44 repectively and the final weights were 126.8±3.15 and 124.1±2.33 respectively. Nevertheless, no difference was found out between the average weights of the groups (P>0.05). What's more, there weren't discovered any differences on the analyses carried out in the samples of muscles taken out at the beginning and at the end of the experiments (P>0.05). As a result of the study, it was concluded that the supplements of Allzyme Vegpro added 0.2 % into feed of gilthead sea bream average 86.94±1.77 g had no minfluence on growth and the quality of muscle. Besides, adding enzyme to feed didn't seem to be economical when evaluating the study. KEY WORDS: Spams aurata, supplementing enzyme, Allzyme Vegpro.
