Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to investigate bitumens physical and rheological behaviours with the addition of EPDM. Throughout this purpose, proportions of %2, %3, %4 and %5 admixture materials by weight have been added to each penetration grade of 50/70 and 160/220 bituminous binders separately. Thus, modified binders have been prepared. Tests such as penetration, softening point, rolling thin film oven, viscosity, dynamic shear rheometer and pressure aging vessel have been performed on EPDM modified bitumens. By means of these tests, hardening, viscosity, high temperature behaviours, aging and fatigue properties of bituminous binders have been determined. Afterwards, optimum amount of modifiers have been found out according to superpave asphalt binder specifications. In conclusion, rheological properties of prepared modified bituminous binders have been investigated with DSR frequency sweep test and multiple stress recovery test.
