Abstract (EN)
The ancient city of Nakoleia, known today as the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir province, is located within the centers of the Phrygian Epiktetos region. Information about this city belongs mostly to the Roman period and later. The fact that important trade and army routes passed through Nakoleia during and after the Roman Empire gave this city an important privilege in the region. In Late Antiquity, there was an army garrison near the city of Nakoleia. AD III of Nakoleia. It is known that he collected taxes from the centers under his control and the imperial official (exactor reipublicae Nacolensium) resided since the beginning of the century. In all these cases, this city gave an important urban appearance around it. In the first part of this study, which consists of four parts, the city of Nakoleia was approached from a general and historical point of view, in the second part, the settlements of the city were localized on the map based on the inscriptions and Barrington Atlas, and information about its religious structure was given, while in the third part, it was tried to be examined in the light of the archaeological finds discovered in this city. In the fourth part, Ancient Greek and Latin inscriptions belonging to the city were brought together. By making use of numismatics, the catalogs of the coins that have survived and published from the city of Nakoleia have also been examined chronologically. To put it briefly, the disciplines of history and archeology were tried to be brought together. Keywords: Nakoleia, Seyitgazi, Phrygia, Epictetus, Inscriptions, History, Archeology.
