Determination of mechanical behavior of ST37 steel repaired using different nanographene powder ratios in epoxy adhesive

Abstract (EN)

When parts are damaged in industrial applications, either replacement or repair is performed depending on the damage situation. Repair processings are often preferred because of save time and cost. Methods such as welding, bolts, rivets and bonding are generally used for repair processings. The bonding method by bonding is more practical and preferred more than other bonding methods, as a more uniform stress distribution is obtained on the bonding surfaces. In this study, St37 steel pipes with 10 mm diameter and 20 mm long channels were bonded by adding DP460 adhesive and graphene nano oxide particles (GNOP) at the reinforcement rates of 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3% into this adhesive. All samples were subjected to tensile and bending tests in order to observe the GNOP effect in the bondings made. In the tensile and bending test results obtained, the highest values were obtained as 15138 N and 356.25 N*m, respectively, in 0.2% GNOP reinforcement, where a better adhesive bond was obtained. Finally, in the macro images of the broken surfaces after the tensile and bending tests, it was observed that there were breaks in the form of adhesive damages.
