Examination of the European Union projects carried out in the field of education in Kahramanmaraş within the scope of Erasmus+ in terms of periodic priority themes

The EU education programmes Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps, which are established by the EU in order to create cultural norms and similarities in member and candidate countries, and which ensure that problems and inequalities in the field of education are supported by EU grants. The main subject of this study is to determine whether the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Crops projects in which Kahramanmaraş participated are carried out with the most appropriate content, themes and activities to the structure of the programmes in order to adapt to the reforms expected by the EU and current education strategies, and to determine whether the projects have reached the required standards. In this study, the projects in which the institutions in Kahramanmaras participated in the 2014-2020 and 2021-2027 EU education programmes implementation periods were evaluated in terms of various aspects such as the features and themes they should carry in various aspects, and whether they carry the structure in accordance with the project standards was analysed by tabulating the available data. Within the scope of the research, the educational strategies of the EU were determined together with the current educational policy-making activities of the EU, and the characteristics of EU education programmes were also determined. Since Turkey, whose EU membership process continues, has signed accession agreements with the programmes, the reforms carried out by Turkey in the process of integration into EU education policies and the EU's current country report on education in Turkey were also examined in the research. In the research, the document analysis technique used in qualitative research was used. After collecting the necessary documents for the research, the authenticity of the documents was examined, the data obtained were classified, tabulated and interpreted. In the theoretical part of the thesis, after creating the necessary framework with the documents obtained, the projects in which Kahramanmaraş participated in EU education programmes were classified and tabulated according to some priority themes and characteristics that Erasmus+ programmes should carry. The results were interpreted. According to the data obtained from the tables, it is observed that the 2014-2020 Erasmus+ programme period contains more variety and inclusiveness compared to the 2021-2027 programme period, while some periodic differences were observed in the projects. In general, the projects were found to be in line with the standard framework, themes and activities set by the EU. As a result, a comprehensive analysis of the contribution of Kahramanmaraş's participation in EU education programs to the projects was made. In order to guide the Erasmus+ projects to be carried out by Kahramanmaraş in the future periods, the missing aspects in the analysed periods have been determined and data that can be used as a source for eliminating the deficiencies in the new projects to be carried out have been produced.
