Abstract (EN)

The study area includes the city center of Kayseri and the city center and Erciyes Mountain located to the south. Kayseri is located in the central Kızılırmak section where the southern part of the Central Anatolia region and the Taurus Mountains approach each other. The research area is located in Kayseri; East and northeast of Sivas, north of Yozgat, west of Nevsehir, southwest of Nigde, south is surrounded by the provinces of Adana and Kahramanmaras. Mount Erciyes is the Kayseri province in the north and the Kayseri plain in the north, the Develi plain in the Develi district in the south, the Koç Mountain, which is the second largest mountain of the study area separated by the Tekir plateau in the east, and the rivers and ponds formed by the Sultan reeds. It is surrounded. The activity occurring in the Paleozoic period with the Kırşehir massif and in the vicinity of Erciyes Mountain, continues with granite and granodiorites in Mesosoik. It is covered with clayey marl and gravel units. Together with the Middle Miocene Yemliha formation, lava and pyroclastics are overlain by basalt and andesite. The Upper Miocene is covered with andesitic, dacitic and basaltic volcanics along with the Senci formation. The later Pliocene is covered by ignimbrites, which are connected to Koç Mountain, and in the Quaternary, the area is filled with basalt, travertine slope debris and alluviums. The area around the study area includes the Halocene, Upper Pliocene, Upper Miocene and Middle Miocene units. These are the Middle Miocene aged Yemliha Formation, the Upper Miocene aged Senci formation above it, the Upper Pliocene aged Incesu Pincherium on top and the Halocene alluviums at the top. The climate seen in and around the study area is characterized by the character of the Central Anatolian Step climate. Since Kayseri is an old settlement area with Ercis Mountain and its surroundings, the forest areas have been destroyed. For this reason, dry forest is limited to grass formation. It is rich in terms of soil resources in and around Erciyes Mountain. The soil type of Erciyes Mountain and its surrounding area forms lime brown soils. Due to its morphological features and lithological structure, it is poor in terms of continuous river sources. In addition, rivers born in the mountainous area before reaching the plain andesite, tuff and basalts are lost by diving under. In terms of source and groundwater, wealth in the field of investigation is in the foreground. The history of the settlements in and around Erciyes Mountain dates back to the mid-3000 BC. According to the examinations carried out in the Kültepe mound outside the study area, the existence of settlements dates back to 4500 years. The largest of the settlements in and around Erciyes consists of villages and neighborhoods in Kayseri. These settlements are lined around the round tables around Erciyes Mountain. The mountainous area and climate in the area of the education, the soil characteristics from the distribution of settlements to economic activities, and in some areas, restricts the economic activities. Therefore, natural environment characteristics are reflected in human activities. There is a close relationship between natural environment and human relationship in the study area. Economic activity (agriculture, animal husbandry, industry, tourism) is seen in the study area and its vicinity. Erciyes Mountain is the first thing that comes to mind skiing tourism. In addition, another important factor in the study area is vineyard and garden activity. The study area is an area of mountainous and plateau areas. Therefore, in areas with high elevation from these areas inadequacy in terms of land use is seen, but the largest activity is winter tourism in winter and mountain tourism in summer. In addition, as the altitude is lowered, the lava flow areas and the skirt plains of the mountainous area are evaluated as the summer area and they are seen as vineyards and garden areas. . The city of Kayseri, which is the largest settlement area in and around Erciyes Mountain, is one of the most important areas of Central Anatolia region with its historical, cultural, religious and natural potential. In this study, the natural environment characteristics of Erciyes Mountain and its environs and the relationship between human beings are emphasized. to raise awareness on the potential that exists in mountainous areas, to have more information on land use, Erciyes Mountain, which has an important place for Turkey and we tried to is emphasized the importance of the environment.
