Özet (EN)

If we look at the retaining structures in general; Retaining structures are mostly built on hilly terrain to protect the existing state of the land by preventing material from flowing and slipping where there is a high risk of landslides or where the existing floor is at a high risk of slipping. Today, changes on these slopes have been observed as a result of both human and natural events. In order to minimize the effects of these changes, various types of retaining walls are designed and constructed in risky areas. At the same time, in deep excavations on topography of hilly terrain, retaining structures are being constructed in order to ensure the soil stability of the highway in the road constructions to prevent or minimize the existing soil repulsions. In this study; As Ereğli-Devrek (Zonguldak) highway, which is the area of investigation, is a road construction work that is designed to be constructed on a topography steep, rugged area, various problems are encountered in the region. Due to the Pontid mountain range is quite high. High slope slopes in the study area; When the slopes are the same, the presence of rocks with low degree of petrification, clay intercalation of the layers and abundant rainfall impair the stability of the slope and increase the risk of landslides. Therefore; According to the results of the slope stability analysis with the geotechnical data obtained from the samples taken in these regions, the appropriate type of retaining structures were designed. Which of these walls will be the most suitable, geological, useful life and economic criteria have been taken into consideration. Then the selected wall type was built. Here, due to the fact that the study area is located in the earthquake zone, the calculations were made considering the dynamic loads caused by the earthquake in the construction of retaining structures. In this study, information is given about the six different types of retaining using the analyzes and the resulting calculations. Stone retaining wall, reinforced concrete retaining wall and geogrid reinforced retaining wall were built in the field as a result of their suitability to the study area. Rankine, Coulomb and Mononobe-Okabe methods were used in the calculations.
