Anatomical, physiological and pathological condition of benign prostate hyperplasia at etiology of erectile dysfunction: Relation in between of prostate volume and cavernose artery diameter and flow

Abstract (EN)

In this study, there are 36 patients between 40-76 age who BPH and/or ED. Patients are departed three groups according to question form of complaint aplication. Group 1 is BPH, group 2 is ED and group 3 both BPH and ED. These patients are favorable at our criterions, we have informed for practices and to be educated and signed to confimation form.We were got anamnesis from patients and filled form of IPSS and IIEF. Pelvic USG performed after then rouitine verification and uroflowmetry. Then, we performed Penil Colour Duplex Ultrasonography to patients. During this procedure, cavernose artery diameter and flow measured before performing papaverin. Subsequent to, 60 mg papaverin and 2.5 mg phentolamine was aplied to corpus cavernosume. İn fifth minute, every one cavernose artery diamater and flow was evaluated and same procedure in 10., 15., 20 . minute evaluated and recorded.There was no complication during of injektion. Median flow velocity estimate of after injektion was recorded.ANOVA test performed to our recordings. Post Hoc test of Dunnett test was practiced for compare of groups.While IPSS scores were in between 0-25, IIEF scores in between 3-30. Average age of these three groups are not significant different of statistical. (p=0.521)Prostate volumes are not significant different statistical to. (p=0.217) Then, in the course of patients? Qmax value was compared and our result that; group 2? value significant better then group1 of statistical. There was no different either group 1 and group 3.Diameter and flow velocity of cavernose artery intracavernosal injektion before and after was not significant different of statistical. İn addition to, constituting two group according to prostate volume , there was not significant different statistically with regard to cavernose artery diameter and flow velocity.As a result, we are not connected that, incresing of prostate volume and erectile dysfunction as physiopatological. And we consider to need more patient series.
