Religious attitudes and behavior of Erenler county province of Roman citizen

Romani people are a society that continues their closed society features substantially in history and in our day. They have been excluded from the society and have been perceived differently because of both their nomadic lifestyles and professions. Although it isn?t known from which countries they come, how do they live and what they believe in, interpretation has been made about them with hearsay information and they have been looked differently. It is suggested that one of the reason of their being excluded dramatically from the society are superstitions with respect to their common religious beliefs and livings in our society.In our country the studies about Romani people are usually with sociological aim. On this subject by doing studies at the field of Theology, religious beliefs and lifestyles of the Romani people should be explored and analyzed and the realities about them should be brought out. We try to perform our study over Romani people who live in Erenler area in the province of Sakarya; through literature review and participation by using directly observation, interview with source people and questionnaire technique. We reviewed the statistical data of all data that we have obtained from the results of questionnaire under the relevant topic titles. In the conclusion part we carried out a general review of the data that we have obtained from the questionnaire and interviews.As a result of our study, it has been seen that there isn?t significant difference between the religion, prayer, social and cultural livings of the Romani people who live in Erenler area and the traditional sense of Sunni. It is understood that the Romani people in area belong to Hanafi-Maturidi tradition in terms of religious belief and prayers.Key Words: Roman, Gypsy, Dervish, Religious Belief, Religious Life.
