Investigating the relationship between adolescent's life satisfaction, academic self effifacy and parental rejection of acceptance

The relationship between Adolescents' Life Satisfaction, Academic Self-Efficacy, and Parental Rejection of Acceptance is discussed in the study. The universe of the research is all high school students within the borders of Nilüfer Municipality of Bursa. The sample group of the study includes two high schools selected with the appropriate sampling method. Measurement tools were applied to 360 students who volunteered to participate in the study. Personal Information Form, Life Satisfaction Scale, Academic Self-efficacy Scale, Mother Acceptance Rejection Scale and Father Acceptance Rejection Scale were used to collect data in the study. The research was based in correlational survey model. In the analysis of the data, the Mann Whitney U test was used to compare the means of two groups and to determine between which groups the difference between more than two means exists, and the Kruskal Wallis H test was used to compare the means of more than two groups. According to the results of the study, it was determined that as the academic self-efficacy level of the individual increases, the level of life satisfaction increases. In the study, it was determined that as the father's warmth/affection level increased, the level of life satisfaction and academic self-efficacy increased, and as the father's hostility/aggression, indifference/neglect, undifferentiated rejection, and acceptance/rejection levels increased, life satisfaction and academic self-efficacy decreased. In the study, it was determined that as the mother's warmth/affection level increased, the level of life satisfaction and academic self-efficacy increased, and as the mother's hostility/aggression, indifference/neglect, undifferentiated rejection, and acceptance/rejection levels increased, life satisfaction and academic self-efficacy decreased. The findings of this study have been discussed within the framework of the relevant literature.
