Effects of the adolescences' emotional intelligence on the tendency of conflict and delinquent behaviours

Abstract (EN)
adolescents were examined. This study was executed on 886 students aged 16 to 18 years. By using "emotional intelligence scale", " conflict tendency scale",and "delinquent behaviour scale", the relationship between the grades of participants were investigated. In addition, variables were examined if they differ according to genders and socioeconomic levels or not. According to the result of research; 1. There is a meaningful negative correlation between the emotional intelligence and tendency of conflict and delinquent behaviours of adolescents. 2. It is found that, there is meaningful negative correlation between the emotional self-regulation, motivation, social skills and tendency of conflict. 3. It is determined that, grades of girls from motivation, social skills, and delinquent behaviours are higher than boys' s. 4. It is determined that, grade of delinquent behaviour is lower at the low socioeconomic level, and higher at the high socioeconomic level. 5. According the results of regression analysis ( stepwise technique ), it is determined that, the independent variable which is predictor of tendency of conflict is emotianal self-regulation. 6. According the results of regression analysis ( stepwise technique ), it is determined that, the independent variables which are predictors of delinquent behaviours are social skills and motivation. In this study, it is verified that, emotional intelligence is the predictor of tendency of conflict and delinquent behaviours.
