The study of relationship between parental behaviors and social skills of teenage students

The purpose of this study, constitues the relationship between the group of democratic, neglectful, autoritarian and tolerant parental behaviour and the social skills of group of teenagers between 11-14.In this research, the points of the Parental Behaviour Scale of teenage students and Matson Social Skills Assessment Scale are studied with the relationship of variables, such as the age, sex, quantity of siblings, birth order, mother?s work condition, total family income, parent?s education level.?Personal Information Sheet? is used to define the information of students and their families. ?Parental Behaviour Scale? is used to define the parental behaviour. ?Matson Social Skills Assessment Scale? is used to define the social skills of teenagers. Total of 420 students are the subject of this research.At the end of research, it is determined that, parental behaviours, age, sex, quantity of siblings, total income level of the family and parents? education level, are effected and showed difference to the teenage students? social skill levels.Most of the teenage students are classified their parents, democratic or antidemocratic and classified their behaviours, autoritarian and tolerant.As result; it is determined that, parental behaviours are related to social skill levels of the teenagers.Key Words : behaviour, parental behaviour, teenage period, social skill
