Abstract (EN)
THE DETERMINATION OF POSSIBLE GENETIC DAMAGE FOR PATIENTS UNDERGOING IN VITRO FERTILIZATION WITH MALEFACTORABSTRACTIn this study, the evaluation of possible genetic damage has been aimed for fertile women who undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) due to male factor. Blood is obtained from 39 women who undergo in vitro fertilization treatment and 20 healthy women who didn?t undergo in vitro fertilization. Womens age ranged from 21-40. Donors are classified into two groups with respect to age ranges of 21-30 and 31-40. Four different genotoxicity tests; chromosomal aberrations (CAs), sister chromatid exchanges (SCEs), micronucleus (MN) and comet assays, are used in thes tudy. Statistically significant increase observed in only sister chromatid exchanges test. All patient groups showed significant increase in SCE rates compared to control groups. Although MN frequency is found to be significant compared to controls in 21-30 age group, no significant increase in MN frequency is found when results of all patients are considered. We weren?t able to find any statistically significant level of chromosomal aberration and DNA damage for women undergoing in vitro fertilization treatment.
