Özet (EN)
Objective: This study was conducted to examine the effects of BPA exposure on blood biochemical levels and testosterone hormone levels. Material and Methods: A total of 40 Wistar Albino male 8-week-old rats were used in the study. Rats were divided into 4 groups, 10 in each group. Rats in Group I were determined as the control group. No injection was given to the control group. Rats in Group II were injected intraperitoneally, dissolving in 2 mg/kg/day BPA and 1 ml/day corn oil for 4 weeks. The rats in Group III were injected intraperitoneally by dissolving 10 mg/kg/day BPA and 1 ml/day corn oil for 4 weeks. The rats in Group IV were injected intraperitoneally by dissolving them in 25 mg/kg/day BPA and 1 ml/day corn oil for 4 weeks. The study was terminated 28 days after the injection and intracardiac blood was taken from the rats under ether anesthesia. Biochemical analyzes and testosterone levels were checked. Results: In the study, a significant decrease in serum glucose level was observed in rats given intraperitoneally BPA (p<0.05), a significant increase in ALT level (p<0.01); It was determined that there was no significant change in total protein, triglyceride and cholesterol levels. It was determined that plasma testosterone levels in rats in our experimental group decreased as the amount of BPA increased. After the experiment, no difference was observed between the body weights, but as the amount of BPA increased in the average testicular weight, the testicular weights decreased. Conclusion: As a result of the research, it was concluded that BPA disrupts the metabolic activity of the endocrine system, and can adversely affect testosterone hormone levels and blood biochemistry even at low doses. Key words: Blood biochemistry, BPA exposure, BPA, Endocrine disruptors, Male reproductive system.
