The investigation of effect of creative drama method on values education in early childhood

This study has been carried out with the aim of determination the effect of creative drama method ın values education of early childhood term. It is important to choose the method of value notion education in early childhood term because value notion is intangible. In this study, the effect of creative drama method on values education has been examined. Due to studies in this area have been studied theoretically, it has tried to make a more detailed investigation by making application in current study. The control group consists of 21 children and experimental group consists of 21 children ın the study group. The experimental group of 21 children whose age group is 4-5 currently study at Kastamonu University Applied Preschool and the control group of 21 children whose age group is 4-5 currently study at X preschool in Kastamonu Central, both groups were at the same (2014-2015) academic year. Value Control Rubric prepared by the researcher was used as data collection tool. Following the preparation of the research rubric, pre-test was applied on the experimental group in Kastamonu University Applied Preschool and control group in X preschool in Kastamonu Central. After applying the pre-test on control and experimental groups, 'value education program based on creative drama' prepared by the researcher was applied on the experimental group and the test was completed in 13 weeks. While experimental work was in progress, normal activity was at routine period as well. After completion of the program applied to the experimental group, the final and retention tests prepared by the researcher via using 'Value Control Rubric' were applied to both experimental group and the control group. x A parametric and Independent T-test which is located in SPSS and Repeated Measures ANOVA tests were used to examine the difference between the average scores in the pre-test, final test and retention test results. As a result of applied statistics; there is significant difference in the pre-test, final test and retention test scores between the experimental and control groups and there is considerable difference in pre-test - final test, pre-test- retention test and final testretention test scores in experimental group. In addition to these, there is no significant difference in pre-test scores of the 4-5 aged group and similarly there is no considerable difference in the pre-test, final test and retention test scores between girls and boys from experimental group.
