Abstract (EN)

Ottoman civilization, Classical Turkish Music existed and developed in it, especially had entered a rapid modernization process at the beginning of 19. century and this modernization process continued with the Turkish Republic after the destruction of the Ottoman. Certainly, this process has also led to social changes. In the 20th. century, when society was changing its habits, with the influence of globalization and technological developments in the process of integration with the world, its cultural habits have also changed with this process. One of the habits that changed with society is Turkish Classical Music which existed in this geography for centuries. Within the framework of changing Turkish Classical Music's relationship with society, the action obligations of Classical Turkish Music's performers have changed. In this research, within the framework of the aforementioned changes, the social role of Classical Turkish Music performers, being a total of action obligations, was evaluated from the era after the early republic to today. In this direction, in this study, it is aimed to reveal Turkish Classical Music performers' roles acquired, role conflicts, and within this framework, changes in their norms being the action of performing in the process. This work is important in terms of revealing performing specialties and differences Turkish Classical Music performers and performances and handling Turkish Classical Music performers from a different perspective. In this research, qualitative research method and general survey model, document review, literature search, and archive search data collection techniques were used. Classical Turkish Music Performer from the era after the early republic to today early constitutes the population of this study. In the work, it was aimed to reach different interpretations of the same works from the same performer, because it is thought that this sample could express practices best, in other words, the diversified performs, of Classical Turkish Music's performer's diversified role set changed in time. With this purpose, as a sample, purposeful sampling as one of the sampling types without selection was used and samples used in the second sub-problem were determined. It was concluded that the Turkish Classical Music performer's role cluster has changed under the influence of modernization, its existing roles have changed under the influence of this modernization and these changes especially have made variations in performance practices.
