Abstract (EN)
This research aims to explain the relationship between relationship addiction and infidelity tendency of early maladaptive schemes in married individuals. Determining the schemas of individuals helps them to be aware of their past lives, body perception, cognition, coping reactions related to themselves. The individual develops a coping strategy for dealing with early-stage maladaptive schemes and reveals these developed strategies in certain areas (Young et al., 2009). The institution of marriage is one of these areas. In this study, we will talk about the concept of infidelity, which also passes infidelity as a definition, while the concept mentioned as a priority is "loyalty" when sorting out the characteristics necessary for marriage. Another concept we will use in research is relationship addiction. It has been defined as a devastating, cuts off the connection with life, one-sided relationship, according to Peele (Peele and Brodsky, 1974). As a result of these findings, it is aimed to investigate the relationship of such characteristics and behaviors with early adaptation-disrupting schemes. For the research we use Demographic Information Form, Young Schema Scale, Infidelity Tendency Scale, Spann-Fischer Relationship Addiction Scale and applied to 382 married participants (264 women, 118 men) who is aged 18 years and over. SPSS 25.00 program was used for the analysis of the data. Parametric tests were used for the data that ensure the normality conditions and non-parametric tests were used for abnormal data's. Correlation and regression analyses were performed. According to the findings obtained in the study; while there was no relationship between gender and relationship addiction, there was a difference in the tendency to cheat and early adjustment maladaptive schemes. It has been found that men's infidelity tendency to cheat are higher than women's. In early-stage maladaptive schemes, the schemes of emotional withdrawal, emotion suppression, punishment, imperfection and high standards were found to be higher in men than in women. There was no significant difference between gender and other early-stage decadalizer schemes. As a result of correlation analyses, the strongest relationship between relationship addiction and early adjustment-maladaptive schemes was observed in the pessimism ix and self-sacrifice schemes. The strongest relationship between the tendency to deceive and the early maladaptive schemes was seen in the imperfection scheme. At last, the effect of early maladaptive schemes on relationship dependence and infidelity tendency was examined with regression analyses. The biggest impact on the relationship dependence of early adjustment maladaptive schemes was in order seen pessimism, self-sacrifice and imperfection schemes, while the biggest impact on the tendency to cheat in order was seen in the imperfection and high standards. To sum up, the findings obtained as a result of the analyses were discussed theoretically with the review of the literature.
