Abstract (EN)
Aim: The study was carried out to determine the effect of emotional freedom technique applied during early pregnancy on nausea and vomiting severity and anxiety. Material and method: The study was carried out in a randomized controlled manner with a total of 110 pregnant women, 55 of whom were in the experimental group and 55 in the control group, who applied to Inonu University Faculty of Health Sciences Pregnant Education Class between June 2021 and June 2022. EFT was applied to the experimental group in the study. After the first attempt, the pregnant women continued the practices on their own, two times with a one-day break. At the end of a week, EFT was applied again by the researcher. Personal information form, SUE, PUQE and PRAQ-R2 scales were used to collect data. Results: In the study, it was determined that the severity of nausea and vomiting in the EFT applied group was lower than the control group, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant (p<.05). It was determined that the anxiety levels of the pregnant women in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant (p<.05). Conclusion: It was determined that EFT applied during early pregnancy reduced the severity of nausea and vomiting and the level of anxiety.
