Abstract (EN)
Introduction: Factors affecting growth in early childhood include a wide range of literature case series. Case series were formed by considering sociocultural, socioeconomic, ethnic, race, and feeding habits of the countries where they were reported, it different and / or similar results were obtained at the same and separate times. The aim of this study was to evaluate the factors affecting growth data such as height, weight, BMI, waist / hip ratio, target height in early childhood. Methods: The consent was obtained from Manisa Celal Bayar University Ethics Committee. Since the study will be carried out in primary schools within the borders of Manisa province, permission was received from the Provincial Directorate of National Education for the measurement of anthropometric data of approximately 1000 children born in 2010-2011 in the 2017-2018 Academic Year. The sample of the questionnaire form was sent to the parents through the class mothers during the school visits on the determined dates. Parents (height, weight) and children's anthropometric data (height, body weight, waist / hip circumference, sitting length, and flesh length) were measured following written informed consent of the parents. The exact date of birth of the participants, the number of births of the mother, the number of siblings, how many sisters or brothers, the time of taking breast milk-cow milk, the parental occupation- education, the type of fatbread used in the meals, the frequency of main meal-fruit-vegetable-fastfood consumption with the help of understandable survey questions, the parents were answered face to face. Measured anthropometric data were entered into the boy Harran University PEDONDO 2009 ine program and the percentile, sds and target height values were calculated according to the age and gender of the children. 164 of the 1134 children were excluded from the study because they included the exclusion criteria. Results: Of the children participating in the study, 498 were female and 472 were male. There was no statistically significant difference between the mean height, body weight, BMI, BMI sds values of the boys and girls who participated in the study. On the other hand, mean birth height, birth weight and target height values of girls were lower than boys, while waist / hip ratio, target height percentile, target height sds values were higher than males. While there was no statistically significant difference between the mean height and body weights of premature and mature infants, the mean waist / hip ratio, BMI, BMI sds, weight sds, sitting length, and stiffness values of premature births were lower than those born in school. Factors such as birth order and number of live births of the mother did not affect the duration of breastfeeding. Similarly, no antropometric data of children had a statistically significant effect on the duration of breastfeeding. The mean height of the cows who started early in cow milk was shorter than the children who started at the time, but there was no statistically significant difference between body weights and BMIs. There was a statistically significant direct correlation between birth height and birth weight of children and mean target height but however, there were statistically significant weak positive correlations between height lengths and target lengths. Socioeconomic classification of parents according to modified Hollingshead index. No statistically significant relationship was found between SES and children's obesity (BMI> 95 percentile). The frequency of short stature of children with low SES was statistically significantly higher than those with middle and high SES. The mean height and target height of the patients who had high SES was longer than that of the middle and low SES and it was statistically significant. There were no statistically significant effects of socioeconomic class differences on mean BMI, BMI percentile, BMI sds and body weights of children. Conclusion: We have proved that the genetic background of parents, especially the socioeconomic and cultural structure of society, is the golden key in the growth of children. Since our study was conducted in similar socioeconomic schools in Manisa province (health service accessibility, information retrieval, proximity to economic conditions), the results did not exactly match with some literature data (No relation between SES and BMI). It is important to note that every child who needs to be remembered is given equal growth in their final height and BMI, so that health policies should be more carefully taken into.
