Abstract (EN)

IV INVESTIGATION OF CRUSHED STONES AROUND ÇETİNKALESI HILL IN ERMENEK REGION ACCORDING TO ALKALI SILICA REACTION (M.Sc. Thesis) Saniye TABAN GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY June 2005 ABSTRACT The goal of this study is to determine the characteristics of crushed stones that are produced from rocks belonging to Çetinkalesi Hill in Ermenek Region. Chemical analyses and accelerated mortar bar experiments are carried out on crushed stones samples in order to determine alkali silica reaction. By applying statistical analyses on dates, they are compared with standard values. The results of chemical analyse are found in the harmless range of concerned standards. By using mortar bar experiments, 14 and 28 days expansion variation values are measured. It is recognised that the values are below the limits % 0.1 and % 0.2 of the standard required for alkali silica reaction. In conclusion, it is shown that the crushed aggregates found are harmless and reliable with respect to alkali-silica reaction.
