Abstract (EN)

In this postgraduate thesis how the matters of Armenia affect the Armenian foreign policy is analyzed and the main factors of the Armenian foreign policy; genocide, Diaspora, Karabakh and the Armenia relationships with other countries, is stated. Armenian history; Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, forced emigration, the features of Armenia as a government, is mentioned before the main part of this work. When the Armenian matters are taken into account, Armenian genocide, Diaspora issue, the way of Armenia`s relations with neighbor, regional countries and foreign powers are dealt with. Armenians places the problem which is between the Turkish Republic and Armenia, on the international agenda by demanding compensation with the so-called Armenian genocide claim. As a result, Armenia`s this approach deeply damages its relations with Turkish Republic. Moreover, recently it is seen that Armenia attempts to put Karabakh question to the center of its foreign policy. The work undertakes the question how Armenia uses the Diaspora issue as a tool in its foreign policy and fulfills it by studying on the basis of related countries with detail. It is observed that apart from its neighbor countries, Armenia heavily depends on Russia which shares the same region. Disagreement between the governments of Turkey and Armenia could not be overcome in spite of many positive steps of Turkish Republic and the binding protocols, because Armenia insists on its same uneasy foreign policies .Armenia not only takes Karabakh as a matter in its relations with Azerbaijan but also bring it onto the international agenda and expands the problem to the wider circle. While Armenia keeps on its own foreign policy, at the same time he depends on its neighbor Georgia which is the only portal to move out to the world, for the economical reasons. Armenia?s foreign policy kills even possible fiduciary relationships with other countries or prevents them from beginning. Armenian political relations base on mutual interests not only with just its neighbor countries but also United Stated of America and European Union. The Thesis fundamentally argues how the shut geographical-positioned Armenia damages its foreign policy by putting its own problems with its neighbor on the international angle. What the detected point here is, in this way Armenia limits its freedom and hardens its trading one more times if we consider its sea- blind earth, depended trade, immoderate foreign policy.
