Abstract (EN)
XX ABSTRACT Fashion is people's passion of searching varation and exposing new forms. If it is desribed in a broad meaning, "fashian is a tempo rary newress that was borned by means of change necessity and being decorated in society. "Fashion, has occured in the societies which believes in development and still changing int truth. As well as in all the fine arts, fashion that gets its inspiration from individual designs, has become an international tact nowadays. In the late of XIX century the, concept of fashion obtained a soci al quality by Paul Poiret who began the fashion world and made the dress making an art, which was known as a profession branch, and Erte who had a spacial position in the fashion world in 20 century. Erte, who has brung newnesses to the fashion world by his de signs that combine with his creativeness strength, has created an or- ginal style by his plain, smart, ich, charming and mysterious lines. By Erte expensive fws, silks, chiffons, embroiders, beads that semboli ze, richness and magnificence and the lines that reveal woman's body property and like the usage and transparent clothes which are very in fashion nowadays, dress characteristics that will pass to 20 century. This BA thesis that is named "A sample study relatea to Erte's life and designs" contains five sections.XXI In the first section of the study, the subject has been decribed and some knowladges about the aim and importance of the study, have been presented to the reader. In the second section short informations about the historical de velopment of woman clothing havebeen given. As it is known.nearly oil of the 20th century fashion designers have made use of the lines and Characteristics of old Clothes sometimes as well as their creative- ness, in order to prepare designs. With purpose, in this section of the study. It has been give place to the woman clothing history and the development of clothing history has been dealth with in a certain in tegrity. In addition in this section Erie's life that is the subject of the thesis, Paul Poiret's role about the development of his to importance of the variation in the artist's works, have taken place as well. These informations which have been acquired by the result of literature se arch have been tried to be supported by means of figures. In the third section of the study, the knowladge about the met hod and material of the study has been given. In the fourth section, by preparing on orginal design sample in the light of the design samples which have been selected from Erie's works between 1915-1930 and placed in the appendix section of the thesis, Cutting outs, drawings and ornament designs that from the design phases have been taken place in this section.xxii In the fifth section trough the findings, it has been reached to the conclusions. The conclusions of design samples that have been put iri the appendix part of the thesis, by being evaluated in the pa rallel of the findings that have been acquired from the charts the conclusions have been determied. Moreover, some suggestions that could help for the yougn designers about cloth designing have been performed.
