Özet (EN)

Apoptosis is of great importance in the development and treatment of cancer. Few studies have been made with compounds from the Eryngium campestre plant which selected as the material of our study, these studies have shown that the plant may be active on some types of cancer. Based on this information, we aimed to examine caspase-3, Bax, Bcl-2, wee1, grp78, GADD153, and AIF protein levels and activities in skin cancer cells treated with Eryngium campestre extract. In the study, cell culture was used and caspase-3, Bax, Bcl-2, wee 1, GADD153, AIF and grp78 protein levels and activities were examined by ELISA method. In our study, data were analyzed using SPSS 21 version with 95% confidence. Mann Whitney U test was used for group comparisons. At the end of the study, wee 1, Bax, caspase-3, GADD153, AIF and grp78 protein levels and activities were evaluated and found to be significantly increased compared to control. Bcl-2 values were found to decrease (p<0,01). As a result; It was concluded that the compounds obtained from Eryngium campestre plant and new drugs that could potentially be used in cancer treatment could be developed and in-vivo and phase studies should be conducted for this purpose.
