Abstract (EN)

The increase in average life expectancy in humans is a good development, but this has led to an increase in diseases related to aging. The cause of Alzheimer's, which is responsible for 2/3 of dementia seen in advanced age, is not known, but there is no cure for the disease. Therefore, scientists have turned to alternative ways to prevent AD. In this study, the anti-Alzheimer potential of Cimin Grape seed extract, which is a subspecies of Vitis vinifera and grows endemically in Erzincan, was evaluated. Aqueous extract of Erzincan Cimin Grape Seed was applied to SH-SY5Y cell culture, an in vitro Alzheimer's model, and its neuroprotective effect against  toxicity was investigated. MTT and LDH test were performed for cell viability test. In order to detect apoptotic nuclei, they were stained with Hoechts 33258, examined and photographed under a fluorescent microscope. Acetylcholinesterase activity was also measured. The findings showed that the aqueous extract of Cimin grape seed is neuroprotective against  toxicity by increasing cell viability and supporting antioxidant capacity.
