Abstract (EN)
The objective of this study is to determine what factors affect the people in preferring Erzurum Province for getting benefit from winter tourısm, in choosing the region and puting forward the relation of these factors with the socio-economic and demographic factors. In the first chapter, the study, organized in three chapters, mentions about the economic and social benefits of winter tourism, its relations with other tourism fields, the place and importance of winter sports in tourism sector, the development of winter tourism in the world and Turkey, and winter tourism centers in the region. In addition, the place of winter tourism in Erzurum and tourism-economy relations are also given in this chapter. In the second chapter, consumer preferences, demand, demand theory are given in addition to the flexibilities, tourism demand and its importance, and the theory demand, the methots of tourism demand and theory of demand and the factors affecting this demand. In the third chapter, the importance, purpose and the content of the study are indicated with the addition and support of related literatür, and preparation of the questionnaire and its application stages are explained, and by mentioning about the processing and analysing the data, information about the econometric model is given. As a result, according to the analysis of the data obtained from the surveys applied to 531 people, it is established that the more the people get older, the more the income level increase, the more people would prefer Erzurum Province for winter tourism.
