Ashʿari 's Conception of the Quran in the context of Makâlât'ü'l-İslâmiyyîn

The Holy Qur'an, constitutes the primary source of Islam and many works have been written about it by Muslim scholars and representatives of various sects and groups throughout history. In this study, the thoughts and opinions about the Holy Quran of the belief schools in the Islamic religion are discussed in the context of the work of Abu'l-Hasen al-Eşʿarî's Maqâlâtü'l-İslâmiyyîn who the founder of Eş'ariyye sect. Our study consists of an introduction, two chapters and a result section. In the first chapter, Abu al-Hasan al-Ashʿari's life, his works, his ideas and the period he lived has examined. In the second part, the sects and groups that Ash'arî discussed in his work Maqâlâtü'l-İslâmiyyîn, has been introduced and then his views on the Qur'an has been mentioned. While discussing belief schools's views on the Qur'an, was taken as a basis the order that al-Ashʿari followed in Maqâlat İn the second part of the study. Our evaluations on the subject are stated in the result section of the research.
