The translation of Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ which is written with Old Oghuz Turkish

Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ belonging to Ferîdüddîn-i Attâr takes part among the works which substantially forms the basis for Turkish Islam literature. This work which is discussed in the form of collection of biographies offers many oracles and biographical informations about lives of many protectors. With the acceptance of Islamic religious, as a result of religious orientation, many works are brought to our language from Arabic and Persian literature by translating. The Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ of Attâr supplies essential part of translation activities in the works of religious- didactics. At this point, it supplants by among the works that are preferred and draw attention by many interpreters in the different stages of Turkish Literature. As a content, it includes the lives of sofi, their oracles and moral conduct. While presenting these informations, it has resource to verse and hadith from Koran and partly Persian poetry. The Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ which is subject to this study is the work of the translation of Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ registered in the library of Süleymaniye in the part of Serez and the number of 01800. The work which includes the characteristics of the sound and shape of Old Anatolian Turkish is presented to II. Murat at the request of Karaca Beğ. Along with not having certain information about interpreter and copyist, it is seen in the last part of the work that the written time of it is 1020. The work includes poem and prose parts and the prose part starts with Cafer'i sadık and ends with Haris'i Muhasibi. In the poem part, the poem of Dâstân-ı Hibâl which is given because of the conversation between Hz. İsa and Hibâl is taken part in. This master's thesis consists of four main sections like " introduction, review, text and index". In introduction part, the custom of the collection of biographies, its place and importance in Turkish Literature, the lives of Ferîdüddîn-i Attâr and his literary personality is taken part in. Along with the properties of spelling of Old Anatolian Turkish , the knowledge of sound and shape are clarifed with the examples from text. In the third section, the form of transcription that is translated to the current Turkish of text is taken part in. In ındex section, their meanings are taken part by creating alphabetic sequence.
