Abstract (EN)
The linguistic features of old Turkic continued from the 8th to the end of the 12th century. A corpus of thousands of pages from the old Turkic period has survived to the present day. Numerous studies have been conducted on these. However, among these studies, the number of studies dealing with hendiadys isn't at the desired level.from past to present. In especially, there are no studies on hendiadys covering all the works of the old Turkic period. In order to overcome this deficiency, this study includes the determination of the hendiadys in all the works of the old Turkic period without any selection. The receipt of all the works that can be accessed from the inventories provided the scope validity of this study. In the study, not only the determination was made, but also a semantic classification was made. Besides the semantic classification, the statistical data of the hendiadys in terms of word type and number of elements were included. The most important functions of the hendiadys are in term of vocabulary of the language in which it is used. Therefore, the identified hendiadys are given in their context. Not all examples of the hendiadys seen in the studied works, but three uses from each work have been transferred. Thus, not only representativeness achieved but also unnecessary volume were prevented. The works studied were examined word by word and 4748 hendiadys were determined. In the works of the old Turkic period, the synonym 2804; the homonym 1578; antonym was 366 hendiadyoin were found. 3573 of the hendiadys are of noun; 1175 were composed of verbs.
