The astronomy in ancient Turks

The ancient Turks, were a union of tribes whose homeland was Central Asia, which adopted a nomadic equestrian lifestyle and belief in the Sky God. This lifestyle is influenced by the geographical conditions of Central Asia, the pressures of neighboring states, etc. formed as a result of reasons. The results of these conditions formed the characteristic features of the Turks. The Ancient Turks, who spent a certain period of the year in one region and the other period in another region, that is, commuting between the spring and winter quarters, had experienced many things on this road.They were in contact with the sky in Central Asia with harsh climatic conditions to protect their animals and people. The sky was everything to them. They made it a religion and named the religion as Sky God Religion. Perhaps the strongest belief in the sky among the heavenly religions existed in the Ancient Turks. They accepted whatever came from the sky, always praying and holding ritual. The ancient Turks were constantly observing the sky, examining each element and forming myths and transmitting it pass down. The perception of the sky was of enormous power when considered in relation to the conditions of the period and their own lifestyles. In this study, it has been examined that the existence of the cult of the sky can be discussed under the name of Old Turkish Astronomy and the importance of the sky in their social life styles and how it affects them.
