Abstract (EN)
Shamanism is a system of beliefs practiced by Turks and their neighbors from communities living in Central Asia. This belief system also includes practices by magicians called cams or shamans, dating back thousands of years. Shamanists and shamanism believers, word-meaning magicians, have emerged as a product of the minds of people thousands of centuries ago in the sense of their need to understand and comprehend events. In the ancient Asian communities, the shaman, along with having religious identity, was not only in this area but also in other areas of society. In this study, the development process of the old Turkish religion will be discussed and the religions spread among the Turks will be discussed for the first time. In the third section, which constitutes the main part of this thesis and its essence, the conceptual framework of the concept within the scope of shamanism in ancient Turks will be examined by considering the opinions in the literature. The process of the acceptance of Islam by the Shaman Turks will be dealt with in a multi-layered manner, with the traces of shamanism in Muslim Turks, the motifs of shamanism in the Evliya Menace and the motifs of Dede Korkut's shamanism.
