ABSTRACTSimple present tense suffixes such as ?-r, -Ar, -Ir, Ur, -yUr, -mAz? arestudied in this work by exercising four works named as Altun Yaruk,Maytrısimit, Kuanşi İm Pusar and Kalyânamkara and Pâpamkara whichbelong to Old Uighur Turkish.In respect of that, there are two main uses in Old Uighur Turkish foraforementioned suffixes. First of them is to show the time of verb and the secondone is to form names and adjectives which show time.To use simple present tense suffixes for showing the time of presentcontinuous tense is a prominent characteristic of works that we seek in Old UighurTurkish. Simple present tense suffixes are also used as future and past tense formsin these works.Juncture methods of simple present tense suffixes in Old Uighur Turkish arediscussed particularly in our work. Considering to this, simple present tensesuffixes are chosen as to the ending of verb with a vowel or consonant and to thebeing simple or derivated verb.
