Old Uigur proper names

In this study prepared as a master's thesis titled ' Proper Names in Old Uighur Texts (Person Names, Place Names, People's Names, Celestial Body Names)', by scanning 52 detectable Uighur texts, all the proper names, place names, people's names, celestial body names in the content have been subtracted. Study of onomastics consists of informations about proper names and special names extracted from texts. In our study where the names of the proper names are categorized, the areas where the names are used are given together with their sentences in the works. The sentences that the names mentioned in the works have been transferred to our study without corrupting their semantic integrity. Proper names' have been seen as sound and spelling differences in different works, with the aim of being adhere to the original writing, these similarities have not been in the same title. Chosen from different kinds of Uigur contexts , usage areas of the names and sentences provide to be evaluated in terms of how they have been used. This acquired diversity also enables to shed light on the relationships of many areas such as social life, belief and geography with proper names. In the study, the proper names are divided into four onomastic branches. These are names of people, place names, folk names and celestial body names. The scanned proper names have been separated according to their categories and help us to see the usage patterns in their works.
