Özet (EN)

Our thesis tries to discuss the views of A.v. Gabain about the dialects in old Uighur within the scope of texts given in the abbreviations section and to assess the samples from selected texts, historically and locally. In the phonetic context, it is understandable through a comprehensive study that the palatal ?n? is not suitable to differentiate the texts of old Uighur as ?n dialect? and ?y dialect?, the palatal ?n? vowel can be transformed into ?y? in the suffixes and words, through different processes, presence of dual form within the same text can be partly explained with orthography and partly with possibility of the presence of new and old forms together; loss of nasality can be a characteristic of dialect, partial samples with orthographic styles using the aleph can reflect a case of expansion under the influence of expanding consonants, it was concluded that this can also indicate another phonetic characteristic in the Turkish, that is, the shortened vowel. It is thought that two types of the instrumental suffix (+In and +Xn) reflect two different dialects, and +dA, +dAn and +dIn suffixes used to indicate the ablative are three different dialects. It was also concluded that the genitiv suffix, participles and necessitative are not sufficient to explain the dialects in Old Uighur, as indicated in the theory of A. v. Gabain. Views mentioned in the said theory show that the dialects signs in texts are not suitable to collect them under a classification of ?n? and ?y? dialects, and that dialects should be investigated in greater detail.Key Words1.Old Uighur2.Supra-dialect language3.Dialects4.Historical development of language5.Writing Customs
