Reconstruction of the Old Uyghur text: İyi̇ Ni̇yetli̇ Hanzade İle Kötü Ni̇yetli̇ Hanzade

The manuscript reconstructed in this post-graduate thesis is a Jataka which is an important genre of Buddhist Uighur Literature. This literary genre in which the rebirth and life stories of Buddha candidates are narrated in Buddhist Corpus contains detailed knowledge of Turkish Nation about Buddhism and also material and moral values of the Turks. Although this manuscript which has editions in many languages settled in to area of Turcology as ''Kalyânamkara and Pâpamkara Story'', the names ''Edgü Ögli Tigin and Anyıg Ögli Tigin'' take place in its Old Uighur edition instead of these names originally. Thus to be called under this name will be more accurate. Moreover this work is understood to have a very significant place when thought in terms of reflecting the language properties of that era. Consequently these causes necessitated restudying on the manuscript. Many studies have been conducted about the work up to now which was found in Dun-Huang caves in 20th Century and preserved in France National Library. All such studies will be reconsidered comparatively in the one hundred and first year of the analysis of the work and then deficiencies and corrections will be set forth. While analyzing mentioned data, modern Turkic dialects, Turkey Turkish and its dialects will be refered frequently besides historical Turkic dialects. By this way, submitted reading and emendation offers will be set forth with grounds thereof. Assessments and interpretations will be made by different methods (original text, transliteration and transcription) which were not applied in Turcology area formerly and the study will be concluded by giving text dictionary right after. The meanings of the words contained in this dictionary will be given by particularly assessing the meanings which they gain within the text.
