Abstract (EN)

Graffiti which is a contemporary street art channel, appears in almost every public place in daily life; its visibility is quite high compared to the works exhibited in museums, galleries, palaces and similar environments; it is an area of occupation that is distant from most of the traditional visual art mechanisms. This study aims to better understand, make sense of and present this concept, which is a field of contemporary occupation, through some of its practices and practitioners in Eskişehir, one of the industrial cities of Anatolia and gives the reader a tidy summary and documentation of the last few years in this city in terms of graffiti designs with the participation of the main actors in the field. With the scope of the study were realised depth interviews with nine artists and gropus of artist who have gained visibility with their graffiti works in public places in city center of Eskişehir, detailed information about the lives and works of these artists which they have integrated with graffiti, has been compiled and a visual repertoire of these art works has been created. The main data collection tool is semi-structured interviews and this study which adopts a phenomenological approach in the analysis of its data, focuses on the examination of various graffiti approaches, stories and examples, which is a record in terms of the visual culture of Eskişehir city and therefore, it can be expected to contribute to the people who carry out educational processes in the field of visual arts as a resource that they can easily adapt to the curriculum.
