Abstract (EN)
In recent years, the tourism sector has been one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world. The fact that international tourism revenues exceed 1 trillion dollars in the world and exceed 23 billion dollars in Turkey reveals the economic dimension of the tourism sector. In the world, those countries where numbers of tourists and income from tourism is greatest give as much importance to the development of domestic tourism as to international tourism. The fact that 70,5 % of global spending on tourism is made by domestic visitors shows the importance of the domestic tourism sector. In recent years, domestic tourism has begun to show progress in Turkey. In 2011, 53,1 % of spending on tourism came from domestic visitors in Turkey.Eskişehir has a large potential for tourism, whether from domestic or international tourism.
