On the perception and image of Eskişehir from the eyes of the people of Eskişehir theoretical and perceptual study

The aim of the research is to measure how the city of Eskişehir is perceived by the Eskişehir society and its image in the eyes of the society. In this framework, it is aimed to determine what kind of image Eskişehir creates on the way to becoming a brand city. In the research, the perception of Eskişehir and its image has been measured in the eyes of the Eskişehir society, and how the brand image of the city of Eskişehir is perceived in the eyes of the society has been emphasized within the framework of related researches. The importance of creating an image in terms of being a brand city has been discussed. In this study, the survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. In this framework, a face-to-face interview technique was applied to 406 individuals selected by random sampling method. According to the results of the research, the first values that come to mind when Eskişehir is mentioned in the eyes of the people of Eskişehir are Anadolu University, Odunpazarı houses and Yılmaz Büyükerşen. In addition, 92.84% of the participants considered Eskişehir a modern city, 60.3% an industrial city, 75% a tourism city, 96.78% an education city, 81.13% a calm and safe city, 55.77% a cheap city. In addition, it was seen that the image of Eskişehir is higher in the eyes of women than men, in the eyes of married people compared to singles, in the eyes of landlords than in tenants, family-owned and lodging participants, in the eyes of doctors and retirees. It has been determined that the image scores of Eskişehir do not differ according to the education level, age, and income status of the participants.
