Abstract (EN)

Lamiaceae family is the most studied plant family due to the genera and characteristics it contains. Plant species belonging to the Lamiaceae family are frequently used among the food and pharmaceutical industry and the public due to their antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. In this context, in this thesis, Salvia tchihatcheffii (Fisch. & C. A. Mey.) Boiss and Ballota larendena Boiss. and Heldr endemic species, anatomical, morphological, molecular and chemical (antioxidant activity and total phenolic compounds) and antimicrobial properties were investigated, these two plant species were investigated in terms of pharmaceutical botany. S. tchihatcheffii and B. larendena species, which grow endemic in Eskişehir, were collected from their natural distribution areas, some of the plant samples were dried and turned into herbarium material and then used for morphological studies. The other part of the plants is preserved in jars in 70% alcohol and reserved for anatomical studies. For other chemical and molecular studies, the dry samples of the plants were cut into small pieces and kept in the air bag. In morphological studies, plant species were measured with the help of ruler and millimetric paper, examined and photographed under a stereo microscope. Sections were taken from the species studied within the scope of anatomical studies with the help of razor blades and their structures such as stem, leaf and feather were examined. Antioxidant properties of plant species for chemical research, determination of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil radical (DPPH) scavenging effect and 2,2'-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid radical cation (ABTS+) scavenging effect. antioxidant properties and total phenolic substance amount were calculated as gallic acid equivalent by Folin-Ciocalteu method (Singleton et al., 1999). Broth dilution method was used for antimicrobial activity studies. Although there are not many studies on the plant species within the scope of the thesis, the characteristics of two species that are endemic to Eskişehir were investigated with the aim of contributing to the researches.
