Abstract (EN)
The concept of entrepreneurship which has been widely studied in the literature has been regarded as a key factor in social and economic development. Likewise, women entrepreneurship plays a key role in evoking the potential of idle labor force, employing the women and integrating the women into the social life. Thus, the concept of entrepreneurship, especially the women entrepreneurship has become an attention-grabbing subject for the social scientists in the literature. This thesis is about the women entrepreneurship which is a way of enabling the women to join the social and economical life actively. The objective of thesis is to emphasize to what extent entrepreneurship attitudes have been adopted by women, look into the problems that women experience in entrepreneurship process and explore these problems in regard to gendered forms of social relations. This study also examines to what extent the entrepreneurship has made changes on the life of women themselves.Findings of this study are based on the fieldwork carried out on women formally affiliated to the Chamber of Small Tradesmen and Craftsmen in Eskişehir. This thesis argues that women entrepreneurs in the sample regard the entrepreneurship as an area that is fulfilled by poorly trained people. Women entrepreneurs who are covered by this research are in the view that entrepreneurship hasn?t made important changes in social issues and particularly women encounter a wide range of problems such as lack of capital, inter family conflict, gender biased attitudes in the business circle, bureaucratic formalities and inexperience of women in setting up and thereafter conducting a business.
