Abstract (EN)

In this study, the evaluation of the small findings and the arctitectural modules that were unearthed during 2011-2014 excavations have been subjected. Karacahisar Castle was on the junction of important roads due to its geographical position and it had been a strategical point for Byzantine Empire and Ottoman Beylik in medieval times. Ottoman Beylik began to have its power and strength felt in the region with the conquer of this castle by Osman Bey in 1288. After the occupation of Karacahisar Castle, the invasions of Ottoman Beylik continued and it proceeded to a powerful empire. Five different fields and many small findings have been evaluated within the scope of this study. The settlement on Karacahisar Castle can be considered to have been more intense in the Middle Age and that usage of the castle have decreased after 15th century in the light of small findings and architectural facts. Afterwards, many parts of the castle that had been abandoned were collapsed. The parts of the castle that are under the ground have been unearthed through the ongoing archeological excavations.
