The distribution of recreational activities in eskisehir

With the development of the industrial revolution, populations immigrated to cities, and cities have enhanced day by day. This increase has brought heavy life conditions and raising socio-economic problems. These barriers have increased needs for recreational activities. Recreational activities have a vital significance for the people who catch up with the heavy conditions of city life as for providing relaxation both mentally and physically. Due to the increasing recreational activities of our modern time generation, Eskişehir will be our main topic during the investigation of the thesis. Eskişehir is one of the old cities which possesses cultural, historical and natural values in order to be used for recreational activities. Because it has wide and rich recreation areas, Eskişehir offers various opportunities to urban people and the people who visit the city. This thesis consists of four sections. In the first section, we mentioned about the concept of recreation, then we explained the relation between recreation and leisure time. In the third part of the first section, we clarified the meaning of recreation classification. In the last part of the first section, we explained the relation between recreation and distance. In the second section of the thesis, we examined the recreational habits of the people who live in Eskişehir. In the third part of the thesis, the urban recreational areas the city of Eskişehir have been examined, after that the indoor and outdoor recreational areas of the city and the natural features of the surrounding areas and their distribution have been examined. In the fourth part of the thesis the attendance of the people of the city of Eskişehir and their characteristics have been taken under research; additionally, the accommodation facilities of Eskişehir have been investigated. In the conclusion and recommendations part of the thesis recreational facilities of Eskişehir have been summarized briefly and recommendations for the things to be done in terms of recreation activities for the city.
