Abstract (EN)

This study covers the mufassirūn of the Quran who lived between the years 401 - 500 A.H. along with their tafsīrs. Despite what occurred in this century in regard to the weakening of the Abbasid Caliphate and the splitting up of the Islamic lands into small states, the interest of this period's people in the Quran and its commentary did not decrease. In the introduction, I discuss the political, social, and scientific conditions that encompassed the fifth century A.H. Then, I go through a survey of tafsīr until the fifth century A.H. The first chapter about the exegesis in the fifth century in the Islamic East, and it contains on three sub topics: First ones about the political situation in the Islamic East in Nishapur and Isfahan, and the second one about the exegesis in the fifth century in Nishapur, and the third one about the exegesis in the fifth century in Isfahan. The second chapter deals with the exegesis in the fifth century in the main Islamic world, and it contains on four sub topics: The first one deals with political situation in Iraq, Egypt and Yemen, and the second one about the exegesis in the fifth century in Iraq, The third one deals with the exegesis in the fifth century in Egypt, while the fourth one contains on the exegesis in the fifth century in Yemen. Then takes place the third chapter which deals with the exegesis in the fifth century in Morocco and Al-Andalus, and it contains on two sub topics: First one about the political situation in Morocco and Al-Andalus, the second one deals with the exegesis in the fifth century in Morocco and Al-Andalus. Chapter IV is a critical study of the exegesis in the fifth century AH, and it contains on two topics: First on about the sources of exegesis in the fifth century, and the second one deals with the impact of exegetes in the fifth century, and those who followed them.
