Abstract (EN)

Abuse of alcohol occurs as a huge public health problem for all around the world not just in our country. There are 2 billions of people using alcohol and 73.6 million of them have diagnosed for alcohol using disorder. It's known that alcohol using disorder causes many illnesses and also causes injuries and deaths. In WHO(World Health Organization)'s 2012 report 1.95 million people have diagnosed alcohol using disorder in our country and approximately 577 thousand of them have alcoholism. Knowing alcohol biomarkers is helpful for diagnose and rehabilitation for the people who have alcohol using problems and also correct evaluation of people who has medicolegal issues because of the alcohol usage. In recent years scientists works on alternative matrixes which can enable to make retrospective analysis to common used matrixes such as blood and urine. And hair is the primary matrix for this purpose. In accordance with all these information, it's developed a validated liquid chromatographic tandem mass spectrometric (LC-MS/MS) method for ethyl glucuronide (EtG) analysis in hair matrix in this thesis. And this method is studied for selectivity, linearity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantitation (LOQ), and recovery and matrix effect validation parameters.
