Abstract (EN)

Robert Bringhurst defined typography as "Typography must invite the reader into text, reveal the tenor and meaning of the text, clarify its structure and order and link the text with other existing elements." With the power of this material in his hand, the designer should develop a solution by becoming conscious of the association relations and visual properties. Typography, which is defined as designed writing, is seen as one of the important elements of graphic design with common methods in many alphabets. Typography, which interacts with its audience at the level of reading-understanding-acting, creates open, new ways of communication with visual and semantic changes with the designer's scenario and the audience's contribution. A typographic design printed on paper can be designed not only to be read but also to be "experienced" toward the designer's fiction. The act of interaction–influencing and being influenced–can offer new experiences through letters and sentences on printed pages, apart from digital environments. As much as the interaction directs and changes the typographic design visually or semantically, the typographic design also directs the interaction, and sometimes it can determine the route of the viewer's action. In this field, where interaction and typography cross each other, the viewer sometimes reveals the designer's idea and interprets the content in line with his own selection. By using typography, one of the strongest materials in the hand of the designer, to convey the message, he/she can invite the audience to his game, carry the physical interaction dimension to his own field and cause the diversification and formation of communication channels.
