Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to determine the role of adding probiotic(Saccharomyces cerevisiae) as feed premix to broiler feeds to eliminate the negative effects of the T-2 toxin applied to chickens during different periods in various doses. The study also aimed to determine the effects of the use probiotic on feed performances such as body weight gain, feed conversion efficiency, and feed intake as well as mortality and pathologic changes. 88 lday-old Ross 308 male broiler chicks were divided into 8 groups; one control and seven experimental groups. 3g/kg probiotic, beginning from the first day, and 2 mg/kg and 4 mg/kg T-2 toxin, beginning from the first and by the 21st day, were added to the experimental group feeds. Chicks were fed between l-24.days with 22.5% HP, 3120 kcal ME /kg, and between 25-42. days with 21% HP, 3250 kcal ME/kg as ad-libitum. It was observed that the pathologic changes in some of the tissues of the chickens which were exposed to T-2 toxin could be decreased adding probiotic to the feeds. The performance values in the experimental groups which were added both probiotic and 2mg/kg T-2 toxin were found to be statistically significant(P<0.05) compared to those applied only T-2 toxin. It was identified at the final stage of the study that the added probiotic helped decrease mycotoxicosis in broilers and affected feed performance values positively.Key words: Probiotic (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), T-2 toxin, broiler, growth performance, pathology
