Examination of emergency distance education processes of preschool teachers with and without eTwinning

This research, which examines the emergency distance education (AUE) processes of preschool teachers who use and do not use eTwinning, was carried out in the phenomenological design of the qualitative research method. In this research, semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight preschool teachers who use eTwining and eight who do not use eTwinning, who work in official kindergartens and official independent kindergartens in different districts of Adana. Participants were determined by criterion sampling. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. According to the research findings, preschool teachers experienced positive and negative emotions with the transition to AUE. AUE processes of preschool teachers; It consists of preparation, implementation and evaluation processes. Teachers talked about the difficulties related to inequality of opportunity, their experiences with families and their techno-pedagogical inexperience. AUE has limitations such as low interaction, inability to support development areas in a holistic way, inability to make an objective assessment, lack of knowledge about how to conduct it, and increasing technology dependency. Teachers often see AUE as disadvantageous. The few advantages mentioned are in the form of showing that technology can be used for education, providing continuity of education, demonstrating digital deficiencies and developing digital skills, strengthening teacher-family communication, increasing family participation, increasing focus and economic advantage. It has been observed that participants using eTwinning feel more ready for the AUE, adapt more easily and encounter less difficulties in the process than participants who do not use eTwinning. Teachers suggested increasing the technological and pedagogical knowledge and experience of all participants of distance education, enriching the content of distance education and ensuring equality of opportunity.
