Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between housewives' somatization level and perceived parental attitudes, and the mediating role of difficulty in emotion regulation in this relationship. For this purpose, 300 women between the ages of 20-50 participated in the research through various internet platforms. Demographic Information Form, Symptom Checklist (SCL-90-R) Somatization sub-dimension, Abbreviated Perceived Parent Attitudes-Child Form (EMBU-C), and Emotion Regulation Difficulty Scale-Short Form (DERS-16) scales were administered to the participants. As a result of the correlation analysis, a positive relationship was found between perceived parental overprotection and rejection attitudes. It was found that there was a positive correlation between perceived parental overprotection and rejection attitudes and the levels of somatization and emotion regulation difficulties. Although there was a negative relationship between perceived parental emotional warmth and rejection, no relationship was found between somatization. As a result of the mediator variable analysis, it was found that it fully mediated the relationship between the perceived emotional dysregulation of the mother, the overprotective attitude and the somatization problems, and the relationship between the perceived father's attitude and somatization. The findings obtained as a result of the analysis suggest that maladaptive parental attitudes will play a role in the difficulties of emotion regulation and somatization problems in adults. The findings of the study were discussed within the scope of the literature.
